Jim Short, Inc. maintains a network of contacts with key legislators and staff to remain up to date on latest issue development. We also review a variety of publications including bill digests, weekly legislative schedules and computerized information systems that link directly to Legislative databases.

Advocacy

Jim Short, Inc. consults with clients to determine major issues and will advocate those issues on the client's behalf.
Those efforts include:

  • Consultation with client and research of issues.
  • Contact with individual legislators to present client's position.
  • Representation of client before legislative committees, agency staff, and the office of the Governor.

Strategic Positioning

Jim Short, Inc. works with clients to assist in developing issue positions and alternative conclusions to positions. When appropriate, Jim Short, Inc. assists in developing a grass roots network. Jim Short, Inc. assists clients in developing education sessions for clients' staff, or in the case of associations, member organizations.
